MOL was formed in 1964 by a merger that joined Mitsui Steamship Company with O.S.K Lines and, as such, has a pedigree stretching back more then a century to the origins of Japanese shipping companies.
Today MOL operates one of the world’s most extensive transportation and distribution systems offering total logistics capabilities that include road, rail and air transportation, warehousing and distribution, all supported by an extensive data communications network. The company owns and/or operates a fleet of approximately 570 vessels comprising container ships, semi container ships, trampers, car carriers, liquefied gas carriers, tankers, special product carriers, passenger ships and others.
