Molecular and Experimental Surgery (MES)

MES is the transdisciplinary answer to combat unmet clinical needs in visceral and hepatobiliary medicine with a special focus on aiming to improve the performance and endurance of patient care involving surgery. Our specialization in the development of cutting-edge patient-derived organoid (PDO) models derived from diverse malignancies such as colon, pancreas, and liver, alongside their respective healthy counterparts enables us to establish personalized drug profile. Our daily mission is inspired by clinical problems occurring in real-world situations before, during or after surgical interventions. MES focuses primarily – but not exclusively- on cancer research.
