Molecular Vision is an optical detection company that has developed a platform technology for versatile optical detection in a portable format. The unique selling point is the integration of low-cost Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLEDs) and Organic Photodetectors (OPDs) with analytical devices. This enables the realisation of hand-held disposable medical diagnostics devices for point-of-care (POC) testing. Additional applications for the portable quantitative analytical devices include in-the-field veterinary testing, food and plant testing, environmental monitoring, and homeland security.
Molecular Vision’s specialist team has a wealth of experience in developing compact optical detection systems for microfluidics based platforms. Our development partners to date have included global players in the pharma, cosmetics and homeland security sectors.
We are looking for additional development contracts whilst working on our own disposable POC medical diagnostics products.
In March 2012 Abingdon Health Group, a specialist medical diagnostics company, acquired a controlling stake in Molecular Vision. This gives Molecular Vision direct access to complementary assets of the medical diagnostics value chain, thereby accelerating the commercialisation of its disruptive technology.
