Monad Charity is an active registered apolitical, laical and nonprofit charity Since 2020 Monad Charity is an active registered apolitical, laical and nonprofit charity, aiming at preventing and alleviating poverty in Mauritius. Emergency relief was the primary focus of Monad Charity in the months immediately following the Covid 19 crisis in 2020. While the nation was going through a terrible economic and sanitary crisis, many families were struggling to make ends meet. By accepting them, listening to them, visiting them, and walking beside them, Monad Charity aims to restore dignity to the impoverished, the excluded, and the oppressed so that they can work together to create a just and cohesive community. To be more effective, Monad Charity works in collaboration with civilians around the world, state institutions, corporates and other non-profits. Monad Charity support families mainly through: • Free educational activities for all • Career and educational assistance • Basic need assistance in emergency cases • Youth empowerment • Healthy leisure for kids • Engaging young people in social work • Providing emergency relief within the event of disasters, emergencies and crises In our multi-cultural and multi-ethnic societies, this struggle affects all of us, and we must never forget that poverty breeds conditions that have a negative impact on the entire community, such as inadequate housing, malnutrition, child care, a bad environment for children’s proper education and development, poor hygiene and health conditions, homelessness, and unsafe neighborhoods.
