Monaghan Volunteer Centre's role is to support charities and other non-profit organisations, promote volunteering and connect people thinking about volunteering with suitable roles in non-profit organisations. It was established in 2006 by Monaghan Integrated Development (MID). MID is a Government funded Local Development Company. The Volunteer Centre is one of the programmes that MID delivers. Our Charity Registration Number is 20071486. Monaghan Volunteer Centre is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and managed by MID. The Centre is committed to promoting, supporting and advancing volunteering in County Monaghan. Monaghan Volunteer Centre currently employs two part time Development Officers and a full time coordinator. For People Thinking About Volunteering - The Volunteer Centre is here to help you find a suitable volunteer placement. We act as the link between people who want to volunteer and organisations that are looking to involve volunteers in the local area. If you are interested in volunteering, but not sure if it's right for you or how to get started, we are the people to talk to! For Non-Profit Organisations - We can promote your volunteer roles on our website, social media and monthly newsletter and to people we meet who are interested in volunteering. We also provide information and support on recruiting and managing volunteers and training on a variety of topics. This support is available on request so please feel free to contact us by phone or by email. Monaghan Volunteer Centre provides a Garda Vetting service to small non-profit organisation who do not have access to vetting elsewhere. We work with any not-for-profit organisation – including charities, community groups, co-operatives and statutory organisations such as HSE nursing homes, schools, hospitals, etc. We may ask to see your constitution or set of rules to clarify this. We will not seek volunteers for individuals or for businesses.
