Monash mRNA Workforce Training Centre

We deliver best-practice education and training programs across the mRNA vaccines and therapeutics pipeline – from research and development, through clinical trials and approval, to production scale-up and manufacture, and beyond. In partnership with mRNA Victoria, we've established Australia’s first dedicated mRNA workforce training centre through a landmark agreement supported by a $10 million grant from the Victorian Government. We draw on Monash’s exceptional pool of biotechnology talent and knowledge to deliver best-practice education and training programs across the mRNA pipeline including manufacturing, biochemical engineering, production, lipid nanoparticle and fill/finish processes. The Centre also complements the establishment of Moderna Australia’s manufacturing facility within the University. We have two broad objectives: 1. To establish knowledge and skill development across the mRNA manufacturing life cycle – with an initial focus on mRNA/nucleic acid discovery, development and production 2. To support growth of the mRNA manufacturing sector through delivery of technical competencies and practical, hands-on training
