TU Delft | Moonshot

The Moonshot program shares the ambition of humanity to become an interplanetary species, however, the harsh and extreme lunar environment poses significant challenges in building robust and reliable operational systems. Moonshot brings together world class TU Delft research teams, lead by Principle investigators across diverse fields, in an interdisciplinary environment to address this challenge and improve the TRL of payloads destined for our moon. Our mission in the upcoming decade is to advance science, technological and social solutions pertinent to Lunar (surface) missions, in the upcoming decade, and thus strengthen the Dutch contribution towards this global mission. Moonshot program started in 2023, and is a flagship of the Delft Space Institute, and co-funded by the Faculty of EEMCS and Faculty of Aerospace at the TU Delft. Our growing program has now expanded into 6 work packages, led by senior staff researchers from the 5 faculties of TU Delft, who offer innovative solutions to tackle diverse challenges for Lunar operations.
