At Moonspire Games, our goal is simple:
We want to build the world’s best language-learning video game — Speechbound.
After three years in development, our small but mighty edtech indie studio is flipping the script on how people of all ages learn languages. With a deep love for storytelling, learning, and design, we’re creating a game that doesn’t feel like homework, but still delivers real, lasting language skills.
Based in Vancouver, Moonspire is led by co-founder Manuel Tausch, a polyglot and Emmy-winning Visual Effects Supervisor who left a successful career in VFX to launch his second startup. Alongside co-founder and Art Director Philipp Amelung, the team brings decades of creative and technical experience into a shared vision: make language learning as fun and memorable as playing your favorite RPG.
While Speechbound is still in development, we’re honored to have been recognized with “Most Innovative Indie Game” at Game Con Canada 2024 and “Best Studio” at Game Con Canada 2025 — and we’re just getting started.
