MORA AVIONS

We are a team of aeronautical engineering students from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka. The first ever Sri Lankan team to participate and win at IMechE UAS Challenge. The UAS Challenge (Unmanned Aircraft Systems Challenge) is the IMechE's leading annual student competition in the aerospace sector. Teams of undergraduates from all over the world take part in the Challenge. They undertake a full design and build cycle of a UAS with specific mission objectives. The Challenge bridges the gap between academia and industry in developing applied UAS-related activities, providing the perfect opportunity to strengthen links with industry, other universities and enhance employment opportunities for graduates in the aerospace sector. We MORA AVIONS made our first appearance at UAS Challenge in 2018 and in 2021, we secured the overall "3rd place" and the "Environmental Award" also. Our mission is to develop the local aviation industry and mark the Sri Lankan identity on the global aviation industry.
