More Than A Tick Box

Campaigning to ensure early intervention is available for ALL those affected by perinatal mental health and support is available for partners, family and siblings. Speaking up about our experiences and others so we can eradicate the stigma around perinatal mental health. Advising professionals and companies on how they can improve and implement strategies that will support those who need it. More Than A Tick Box is here to support medical professionals, individuals and companies to ensure all those affected by perinatal mental health can receive the necessary help. One in five new mothers develop a mental health condition around the time of the birth of their child and some 30,000 more women need specialist services. These women are a priority because if left untreated, this can turn into a lifelong illness, proven to increase the likelihood of poor outcomes for both the mother and new baby. From personal experience and our own research, we feel there is distinct lack of education in early identification and prevention of perinatal mental health. Feedback highlighted a lack of support and resources for partners and families of those who are experiencing perinatal mental health issues.
