Mosan’s mission is to co-create culturally appropriate, circular, climate-positive and regenerative systems, through ecological sanitation and innovative waste treatment, thus avoiding contamination and enabling the recovery of valuable nutrients for reuse in agriculture, closing nutrient cycles and supporting long-term regeneration. Our services and products support health and wellbeing of the local population. Our approach is planet-centered, instead of human centered, ensuring that all we do creates a better tomorrow for everyone and everything. Our activities directly mitigate climate change by replacing traditional on-site sanitation (water flush toilets or latrines) with our customized ecological dry toilets (container-based with urine diversion) and safely treating sewage sludge via pyrolysis, in our customized pyrolysis system. Furthermore, our sanitation service reduces water consumption and renders sanitation more resilient to climate change. Mosan transforms the contaminating sanitation waste to biochar, recovering valuable nutrients and when applied to soil sequestering carbon. Mosan Biochar provides nutrients and retains water, decreasing the amount of fertilizer needed and the nitrous oxide emission connected to it.
