Motus is an international non-profit association, created in 2015, whose objective is to promote transformation and innovation in organisations through training and conferences. Our activities: > A scientific journal, Riti: the international journal for the transformation of institutions: www.ritijournal.com > 4 international conferences on group dynamics per year including an on-line one > A tailor-made course to train in the role and posture of consultant > Various workshops and continuing education activities Our theoretical origins are that of group relations which share the same theoretical bases as group dynamics, both from a psychological and sociological point of view. The central idea of this approach is that conscious and unconscious emotions contribute to structuring organisations and generate the blockages of which organisations are victims. The development of this way of thinking is associated with the work of Wilfred Bion (1961) who created a theory of group mentalities. This theory allows to describe and to explain the unconscious processes in the functioning of groups and the dysfunctions which result from them. Contemporary thinking has broadened and is based on an interdisciplinary approach which aims to study the link between the psyche and the social as a way of understanding the complex dynamics (emotional, relational and political) of organisations. The various international organisations that support group relations and transformation of institutions and organisations share this common assumption: transformation is real and sustainable whenever we can move beyond rational thought processes. This happens when the emotions experienced during our individual and collective experiences feed our thought. Thus our work is based on a learning-by-experience approach, the systems’ analysis and the work on the transformation of the Roles taken on by the Persons to better exercise leadership and to take their authority inside the Systems.
