Mount Blanket

After seeing a homeless man in the winter of 2016, five year old Hattie became concerned and wanted to know where those without homes sleep. When she learned that many experiencing homelessness sleep outside, Hattie immediately wanted to help. She asked her family, friends, and community to purchase and donate items for her to take to a local homeless shelter. Nearly 50 blankets were collected that year – a pile that grew as big as a mountain. And so Mount Blanket was born! Now a 501(c)(3), Mount Blanket continues to bring about meaningful change. Mount Blanket has collected donations of all new blankets, socks, household items, food, toys, and other needed items to donate to those experiencing homelessness in over 10 states, Paris, and London. Hattie and her Mom have also spoken on the impact of these donation drives internationally. The duo continues their advocacy and education efforts and hopes to help as many people as possible by inspiring others to get involved to make a difference in the lives of those experiencing homelessness.
