Mount Kenya Environmental Conservation was formed in 2015 by a group of young people to plant trees in communities, schools, and forest lands and reverse the degradation of Mount Kenya’s fragile ecosystem. The organization has planted more than 670,000 trees, working closely with community members to ensure their long-term survival.
Mission: Develop a healthy, sustainable and resilient environment at the interface between Mount Kenya Forest and neighbouring communities improving food security, nutrition, and livelihoods for vulnerable households within the region, through capacity building, forest restoration, and agroforestry.
