Move Beyond Surviving

"When you are diagnosed with cancer, it is hard not to let fear into your life. Once you have been operated on, it is hard not to have limiting beliefs-"my muscles won't allow that movement", once you have finished your treatments, it is hard to not think of yourself as a victim. This trip was proof to myself that all of those things were false. I choose to live life to the fullest and will push myself to the limit. Completing the Moving Beyond Surviving experience was my first step towards taking my life back." -Crystal W. Nature provides so many opportunities and benefits from challenging outdoor experiences. Sharing these adventures with a community of breast cancer survivors enhances the benefits of the Move Beyond Surviving programs. Move Beyond Surviving is dedicated to empowering breast cancer survivors to overcome the emotional, physical, and mental impact resulting from their disease by physically challenging themselves in nature. Engaging in outdoor adventures can profoundly affect a survivor’s ability to live a life in which they thrive.
