MPower Kernow is a dedicated social enterprise focused on providing hands-on, practical skills training in Engineering, Construction, and Environmental Technologies. Our mission is to empower individuals, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds or with neurodiversity, by offering an alternative to mainstream academic paths. Situated in St Blazey, one of Cornwall's most deprived areas, MPower is accessible to trainees from all over Cornwall. Our training aims to address the social, economic, and educational disadvantages faced by local youth while leveraging the region's rich industrial heritage for a sustainable future. Cornwall boasts a proud tradition of engineering and innovation, and we harness this legacy through collaboration with local businesses, training organizations, and government entities. Together, we are shaping a facility that not only meets industry demands for skilled personnel but also offers sustainable, well-paying jobs for our communities. At MPower, we believe in "Getting Hands-On." Our practical projects include repairing railway equipment, restoring hydroelectric power plants, building community playgrounds, and more. These opportunities benefit not just the individuals involved but the wider community and economy as well. Over the past three years, we've garnered over £1 million in support through grants, donations, and volunteer efforts. We are currently seeking to raise £250,000 to complete our first-phase training facilities to ensure a fully sustainable and accredited training centre for future generations.
