MRC GEM is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to augment existing community health operations during large-scale emergencies, aid in response to pressing health care needs, and improve community emergency preparedness. We serve Georgia's Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale counties, working closely with the Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale County Health Departments, each county's EMA, the local chapter of the American Red Cross, and other emergency responders. The Medical Reserve Corps program operates under the auspices of the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General.
