About MSC Student Conference on National Affairs
The Memorial Student Center, Student Conference On National Affairs (MSC SCONA), founded in 1955, is designed to bring together students from around the nation to discuss issues of national and international importance that face our nation. SCONA speakers include statesmen, authors, and dignitaries of national renown. Each year, delegates of the conference debate on national issues, they will create potential solutions to the problems posed, culminating in a roundtable policy that is judged at the end of the conference. This year, the 66th conference, we anticipate hosting 150 of the nation’s top students from various prestigious institutions across the country, including yours. This year’s conference focuses on the strains put on the United States of America and how that will affect future generations. Some key areas that will be addressed include the economy, the military, foreign relations, education, energy, and the centralization of the government.
