MSOM - Medical Students On a Mission

Medical Students On a Mission (MSOM) is a student led non-profit organisation, with a passion to make changes in communities deprived of medical healthcare. The majority of the civilians that MSOM have come into contact with, have never seen a doctor or had any form of healthcare. Our focus is on highlighting the importance of healthcare; whereby the small preventive measures that an individual puts into action could potentially save a whole livelihood. Our aim is to provide medical and humanitarian relief. By setting up and funding medical outreach programmes, we can reach out to those who can't be reached! MSOM has branches across Bulgaria including: Plovdiv, Sofia and Pleven. Past Projects: Bulgaria - On the 29th May 2018, we held our very first Bulgarian medical outreach programme, which was held in the village of Trud (few km outside of Plovdiv). The aim of the workshop was to promote and raise awareness about diabetes and its complications to the local public, as well as screening their blood glucose levels. Patients with abnormalities were referred to the Endocrinology department of St George's hospital for further investigations. MSOM Nepal - On 17th March 2018, MSOM was able to help fund “Retinoblastoma(Childhood Eye Cancer) and Amblyopia awareness + free eye screening program”, which were conducted by Dr Ben Limbu and Working Vision.
