Prerna - The Emancipation

PRERNA,- The Emancipation, The Nationally recognized Social Event and Asia's Largest Differently Abled Fest organized by the Engineering students of Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, was initiated in 2006 with the sole purpose of providing the differently - abled like visually impaired, physically handicapped, mentally challenged and deaf and mute a platform to showcase their calibre and to draw inspiration from them. PRERNA has received patronage from UNESCO since 3 consecutive years and recognized by the Paralympic committee of India and Indian Government. Every year PRERNA witnesses more than 5000 differently abled participants in more than 40 events. Apart from differently abled events, we also work for the betterment of differently abled through a project 'DA WELFARE' in which we donate the basic requirements of sustenance of their livelihood. PRERNA has been aiding the society since 13 years and is the only event of its kind organized by the engineering students. Besides organising more than 40 events for differently abled PRERNA mainly has 3 segments : DA Sports : PRERNA organised exhibition matches of different Paralympic games to provide a platform to differently abled sportsperson.Like Para Taekwondo, Deaf wrestling,Para Archery,Blind Judo,Wheelchair Rugby,Para Fencing etc. ARTICO : It is entertainment night organised by PRERNA to showcase the talent of differently abled performers. ALFAAZ : A series of motivational guest lectures given by differently abled personalities and some normal celebrities who has inspir PRERNA’18 witnessed 7100 participation and 10,200 visitors from all over INDIA. PRERNA is associated with differently able institutes of Gujarat and even of neighboring states. PRERNA’17 presented mind blowing Para Powerlifting, Para Sitting Volleyball and Blind Judo in which nationally recognized players showed majestic zing and immense determination thereby lifting the barrier of disability.
