Our Department stands at the forefront of shaping physiology and neuroscience education. Our faculty play significant roles in the American Physiological Society and Physiology Majors Interest Group, leveraging our expertise and contributing to the advancement of these fields. Equally important, we pride ourselves on implementing equitable and inclusive teaching practices, ensuring accessibility for all. We offer undergraduate majors in Physiology and Neuroscience and have hired five fixed-term faculty in the last two years to support our medical teaching and ~1000 undergraduate majors.
Research is the cornerstone of our endeavors. Our faculty labs focus on understanding mechanisms underlying human diseases. Our strengths lie in cancer biology, immunity and inflammation, metabolism, neuroscience, and education and human learning. With ample research spaces across two modern buildings, we provide an environment conducive to innovation, collaboration, and growth.
Our Department belongs to a vibrant academic community at MSU.
