Societies in MTU are some of the best Societies in Ireland frequently winning at the BICS (Board of Irish College Societies) National Awards. By signing up you become a member and can vote at society general meetings. You will also be notified directly of when activities for that particular society are taking place. Many societies will have a strong online presence that you can engage with and be part of. There is no fee or charge to become a society member. Societies committees are responsible for the operation of societies. They plan events, create budgets, encourage people to join the society and work with the Societies Office to grow their society. Societies committee officers create and collaborate, learn about teamwork, leadership and innovation and get access to exclusive committee training. The committee team plan, organise and execute activities. Together they are responsible for driving and running a society with the support of the Societies Office.
