About MUN SailBot
The MUN SailBot team is a multidisciplinary engineering student design team at Memorial University of Newfoundland. We work on designing, modelling, building, and testing semi-autonomous sailboats to compete in the International Robotic Sailing Regatta. We offer students an opportunity to experience various aspects of ship design during their engineering program. These include learning about the design and construction of vessels, vessel stability, 3D modelling, fluid dynamics, vessel outfitting, control systems, sailing, electrical control systems, and building remote and autonomous control systems. Our Current Goal - Construct a new 2-meter-long sailboat to compete in the 2023 International Robotic Sailing Regatta against several other universities from around North America.
