Planning a total capacity of 1.25 GW
MIL is putting up a state of art facility complete with advanced automatic machines sourced from leading companies, and best in class ancillary units for maintaining stringent cleanliness and humidity requirements necessary for producing world class quality cells. The unit will facilitate entire operations of cell making comprising of twelve departments and numerous processes to ensure complete controls on quality.
The company has acquired 30 acres of land from Andhra Pradesh Industrial Investment Corporation required for all the 3 phases of the project. The company has also received building approvals from Tirupati Urban Development Authority for all the phases.
The project is approved by State Government of Andhra Pradesh and MIL has been accorded slew of fiscal benefits. The project is also approved under Modified Special Incentives Package scheme by the Ministry of Electronic & Information Technology, New Delhi.
The phase I of the project at an outlay of Rs 165 crores will comprise of twenty thousand square meters of manufacturing facility. The unit will employ 250 persons. The factory construction is slated for completion by September 2019 and commercial production is targeted by Oct / Nov 2019.
The initial installed capacity in Phase I of the project will be 250MW.
The capacity is planned to be increased five folds over next 3 years.
