MUNSCR은 성통만사가 한국 통일의 중요성과 북한 주민의 인권을 둘러싼 문제에 대한 인식을 높이기 위해 국제적으로 조직하고 있는 모의 유엔입니다. MUNSCR은 1) 한반도 통일에 관한 평화적 대화를 장려하고 2) 북한 인권 개선을 촉구하는 두 가지 주요 주제를 잡고 있습니다.
*성통만사는 '성공적인 남북통일을 위한 사람들'의 약자로, 우리는 통일된 한반도의 목표를 더욱 강조하기 위해 과거부터 일제강점기와 분단까지의 철자인 '코레아'를 채택했습니다.
MUNSCR is a Model United Nations that PSCORE* is organizing internationally to raise awareness of the significance of Korean reunification and the problems surrounding the human rights of North Korean citizens. Ultimately, MUNSCR will hold two main themes, which are 1) Encourage peaceful dialogue on the reunification of the Korean peninsula, and 2) Call for human rights improvement in North Korea.
*PSCORE stands for ‘People for Successful COrean REunification’; we adopted the original spelling ‘Corea’ from the prior era to Japanese colonization and the division of Korea to further emphasize its goal of a reunited peninsula.
This year, we’re holding our first-ever MUNSCR 2021 from April 2nd to 4th in a virtual setting. We’re happy to invite undergraduate and graduate students who reside all over the world to join us. The conference will set the General Assembly of the United Nations as a model and open five committees in total;
1. DIS committee – A: The protection of North Korean Defectors; exploitation, trafficking, and refoulement
2. DIS committee – B: Regional Security and Nuclear Disarmament on the Korean peninsula
3. SHC committee – A: Human Rights Violations in North Korea (BEGINNER)
4. SHC committee – B: Civic Space and Surveillance in North Korea
5. Special committee: Inter-Korean Relations, Reunification and the Response of the International Community (Beginners are encouraged to apply for the Special Committee)
