At the MIT Murray Lab, we engage in collaborative research on big issues at the intersection of innovation, entrepreneurship and geopolitics. Some examples include Climate Instability, Rising Costs of Energy Dependence, War, Conflict and Disaster and Rising Burden of Healthcare. Research topics include innovation ecosystems, stakeholder management according to our MIT Five Stakeholder Model, innovation-driven entrepreneurship, especially deep tech enterprises, and changing risk capital approaches, e.g., problem-based and mission-aligned VC, or new fund designs in public, private or mixed sponsorship, such as the NATO Innovation Fund. In the tradition of S&T, we are interested in the data-driven exploration of the role of new technologies in solving global challenges in changing geopolitical times, including Quantum Technologies, Engineering Biology, Artificial Intelligence, Semiconductors, and Telecommunication.
