There are 110,000 people with muscular dystrophies across the UK and around 12,000 of these are in the Midlands region alone. People with these conditions experience a significant reduction in the amount of physical therapy they receive from the NHS after turning the age of 18.
Targeted physical therapies are essential to people with muscle wasting conditions to maintain mobility and reduce the rate of muscle deterioration.
The Centre offers free and continuous specialist physiotherapy and osteopathy for people with these conditions. In addition we offer complementary therapies and other services to support people affected by MD with other areas of life that become challenging when affected by muscle wasting conditions.
