In June 2021, eleven cultural and educational institutions in Bern's Kirchenfeld district formed the association Museumsquartier Bern:
Alpines Museum der Schweiz, Bernisches Historisches Museum, Gymnasium Kirchenfeld, Kunsthalle Bern, Museum für Kommunikation, Naturhistorisches Museum Bern, PH Bern - Institut für Weiterbildung und Medienbildung, Schweizer Schützenmuseum Bern, Schweizerische Nationalbibliothek, Stadtarchiv Bern and Yehudi Menuhin Forum.
In a four-year development phase (2021-2024), a model for the Museumsquartier Bern will be created step by step and developed with and by the employees of the various institutions. With a suitable organizational structure that allows us to work together efficiently and sustainably, joint innovative formats and projects, the design of the museum garden between the institutions and the conception of joint marketing, the foundations for collaboration are created. In addition, we will clarify, coordinate and plan the architectural project in collaboration with the City of Bern.
