Georgia Tech Music Informatics Group

The Music Informatics Group researches AI-driven methods for music analysis and generation. It is headed by Alexander Lerch and is hosted at the Georgia Tech School of Music. Our research expands the boundaries of how machines listen to and understand music. We create the next generation of analysis technology, extracting and interpreting both score-like and performance-driven aspects of musical recordings. This information can be used for applications in areas such as music discovery, music education, creative listening, and music generation. Formally, our research covers the areas Music Information Retrieval, Audio Content Analysis, Music Performance Analysis, and Meta-creation of music.
