"MUSLIM WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT TRUST" was established in Puttalam in 27th September in 2011 but the registered on 2nd of December in 2014. as a response to the many challenges that were being experienced by the Internally Displaced People (IDPs) who were directly affected by the war in the North and the East of the country. The organization decided to focus on the women and children who were at risk of abuse and neglect due to their displacement. MUSLIM WOMEN’S DEVELOPMENT TRUST is the Women NGO working solely in the Puttalam District and was the first organization in Puttalam to conduct awareness of women rights and child rights. Today, they base all of our activities on the rights of women and children
