Established in Toronto in 1984, MWLA is currently celebrating its 37th year in practice. Our firm provides a full range of Landscape Architectural services to both public and private clients. Our projects include residential and commercial condominiums including roof decks, cooperative housing, urban residential gardens, country estates, corporate and governmental sites, retail and hospitality developments, health care facilities, public gardens and parks, ravine and shoreline stabilization / restoration, and new and retrofit green roofs. MWLA is uniquely adept at working in a range of scales from the urban pocket park and condominium terrace to regional parkland and botanical gardens. We bring big ideas to the smallest of spaces to suit every region, neighbourhood, and environmental condition. The coherent vision for our projects stems from our multidisciplinary design team who keep a watchful eye on schedule, budget and construction quality. We take pride in balancing our expertise in both built elements and horticultural design. With a reputation for pushing the boundaries of landscape design, MWLA adapts materials and treatments that are considered outside the traditional landscape palette. MWLA’s design approach seeks to blur the boundaries of ‘inside’ and ‘out’ thus creating a visual and experiential flow that is calming, aesthetically invigorating, and functionally coherent. We have strong leadership and co-ordination skills, extremely well-honed technical and horticultural skills, and extensive experience in working successfully with a broad spectrum of professional disciplines as required, to fulfill the needs of our projects. We are skilled in all aspects of sustainable design and have worked successfully on numerous LEED and green standard projects. MWLA offers our clients illustrative concept designs through construction contract administration, easing the process behind bringing a dream project into reality.
