MY FUTURE MATTERS

My Future Matter (MFM) is a passionate, educational and community based initiative operating as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with its activities mainly directed to help, nurture and develop orphaned and vulnerable children to become self-sustaining and constructive to their communities. The organization operates under the child care laws of Zimbabwe. The organization has registered over 40 children 25 girls and 20 boys and this number continues to grow. It is currently supported by our founder and board members. Reg. No MA0000522/2016 amended MA0001369/2017 operating in Seke Communal areas with a desire to grow into other districts. The organization and centre is an initiative of the founder and board, which was started in 2016, it started to take care of 5 children, they were young, had no parents and families could not assist to look after their educational needs. The situation is worse now because of rampant HIV/AIDS deaths, absolute poverty levels in our rural setting, High levels of child neglect because of high illiteracy levels and other natural calamities. MFM strives to provide accommodation to the homeless and destitute, welfare, health needs, education and other basic requirements to over 40 children at the centre, 25 girls and 20 boys, all orphaned by HIV/Aids and other natural catastrophes. The children at the centre survive on donations by well-wishers, grants and currently working on income generating projects at the centre including Poultry, animal husbandry & Agriculture. MFM is currently operating in Mashonaland East,Central province of Zimbabwe where an estimated 2000 orphans reside. Their vulnerability is high considering the abject poverty levels, increasing dropout rates of children from schools, increasing HIV/Aids prevalence among children and the communities, the increasing numbers of orphans in the area and nationwide, pose a daunting challenge to those with responsibility to children.
