If you have little cash, no vision insurance, or lack the social or financial capital to navigate our complicated medical system, you are most likely marginalized from getting basic vision care. A big percentage of Hispanics in the US are, unfortunately, marginalized from getting basic vision care. The average annual household income of US Hispanics is $55k, has the highest health uninsured rates, and most of them have no vision insurance. However, Hispanics in the US have the economic strength equivalent to the world's 8th largest economy. This is a $5.5 billion market opportunity for prescription glasses that traditional vision care practices struggle to serve effectively. Our eye-heath kiosk (The ZoomVision Kiosk) it is equipped with cutting-edge technology for conducting comprehensive telemedicine-based eye exams and for streamlining the ordering of prescription glasses and contact lenses. Besides the minimal footprint of the kiosk, the operating costs of the kiosk is a fraction of a traditional optical practice, enabling us to offer basic vision care in a very convenient way and at very affordable prices. We currently have a very successful proof of concept inside a grocery store in Houston producing sales of $50k per month, mainly driven from foot traffic from the grocery store. 93% of patients don’t have any vision insurance . Our next milestone is to raise some capital to help us further develop our software platform, build a core team, and begin scaling to a multi-location operation.
