Myers iVA™ Virtual Acoustics is an audio display technology for earphone playback. The technology fools the listener’s auditory system into the perception that he or she is listening to music in a listening room, over speakers, when none exists. Myers iVA™ does so by adding artificial psychoacoustic “cues” to the earphone audio that create a virtual reality-based audio illusion to the listener. It is designed to give personal music devices, such as the Apple iPod, cell phones, and laptop computers, the means to display stereo recordings over earphones, as though the listener were hearing it over speakers in a perfectly designed listening room.
