By introducing disconnected youth to entertainment media opportunities, New York based non-profit Mythic Bridge provides a safe path towards practical production education and guaranteed employment. The key to our mission is pairing our programming, a combination of classroom work and hands-on training experiences, with television, arts, and film productions in order for the final days of our three-week core programming to incorporate live on-set training, including the responsibilities, pressures and deadlines of the entertainment industries. By pairing these at-risk youths with professional mentors, they learn the art and craft of filmmaking and are given the opportunity to explore the array of professional opportunities offered in the entertainment industries. By making the possibility of gainful employment accessible to at-risk youth, we are building a bridge that provides a support system and an educational safe space for those who might otherwise have none. For most, this becomes a transformative and life changing experience. To achieve success, Mythic Bridge designs programming to help provide: • Personalized guidance to strengthen life skills. • Tailor-structured programming to build technical skills. • A broad-spectrum network of contacts. • Inclusion in a safe and long-term creative community. In addition to a solid understanding of film production, this approach has a myriad of positive results, including enhanced self-assurance, a strong work ethic defined by commitment and determination, and the ability to work through group process with solid communication and listening skills. Mythic Bridge utilizes data and analytics from a third-party firm to assess productive change in youth. By focusing on both essential life skills and hands-on technical training, Mythic Bridge offers outstanding educational experiences to disconnected youth ages 18-26.
