Who is Dongpo?
Often referred to as the original lifestyle guru, Su “Dongpo” Shi (1037~1101) was a renowned renaissance man at the peak of imperial China’s Song dynasty. Best recognized by his pseudonym, “Dongpo,” he was a celebrated master of poetry, prose, calligraphy, painting, politics, pharmacology, and gastronomy – with his singularly unique style of cuisine giving birth to avant-garde signature dishes such as Dongpo Pork and Dongpo bamboo shoots.
