About MíDe Research
míde is an all-island, cross-institutional consortium dedicated to advancing high-quality interdisciplinary research on women and girls in sport, exercise, physical activity, and health. Our mission is to understand, intervene, and drive meaningful change in participation, performance, and wellbeing. With increasing investment in women’s sport and health through policies and initiatives, there is an urgent need for a coordinated research approach. míde unites experts across Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) in Ireland and internationally to shape the future research agenda and amplify impact. Our Vision To lead as an all-island research consortium with a global reach, driving transformative research that enhances the lives of women and girls through sport, exercise, and physical activity. Our Mission To produce interdisciplinary, impactful research that informs policy, improves practice, and promotes inclusivity and equity for women and girls across the lifespan.
