The studio was founded in 2010 by three crazy women: Hala Al-Ani, Hadeyeh Badri and Riem Hassan. The three met during their undergraduate studies at the American University of Sharjah and decided to start the studio post their existential blues. Mobius is our outlet, a means to explore studio-initiated projects and commissioned work whilst maintaining some sort of sanity. We work unsociable hours and consume as much coffee as we consume anti-aging eye cream.
Things we want to talk about:
Since 2012, we have been running the Design House program, a catalyst for people to understand and explore design beyond the confines of the commercial. Every year, the program culminates in an exhibition, workshops and a feast.
We constantly joked about taking turns to do our masters, but the joke was happily manifested in this lifetime (our prestige just exploded, right?). Riem and Hala currently teach at the American University of Sharjah. Hadeyeh is at the Sharjah Art Foundation.
We love falafel and hummus. Together and separately.
