The NaBIS group integrates micro- and nanoscience in lab-on-chip systems for biological and environmental analyses. The objective of the group is to develop highly sensitive technologies for medical diagnosis, treatment monitoring as well as environmental monitoring.
We specialize in application-driven research focusing on the entire process from manipulating the properties of biological structures, creating sensors and implementing everything in a reliable point of care (POC) device for efficient diagnostic and monitoring purposes.
The fundamental expertise of NaBIS is the development of highly sensitive micro- and nanosensors integrated within microfluidic systems for biological and environmental applications.
The performance of these sensors is optimized through theoretical simulations as well as rapid prototyping and is tailored for the application at hand.
