Nacodeal

NACODEAL (NAtural COmmunication DEvice For Assisted Living) is an European project funded by the Ambient Assisted Living Joint Programme (AAL JP) whose objective is to enhance the quality of life of older people and strengthen the industrial base in Europe through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). NACODEAL Project aims at giving new solutions to the problems that elderly people faces during their daily tasks with New Technologies, keeping them involved in present society. These solutions will be driven through Augmented Reality technologies implemented in a portable device that will give them instructions of how to proceed during different activities of daily living. NACODEAL has a dual objective: to sustain and improve the quality of life of the elderly suffering with temporary memory problems and to reduce the existing gap between elderly and new technologies. The memory represents the ideal container of our experience; in the senile age, this container often becomes less efficient and meets more difficulty to acquire and store a large quantity of data and information. NACODEAL aspires to allow them to live an independent life, as well as let them easily access to the digital world.
