NANOCULTURE aims to provide advanced knowledge and tools on the risk assessment and mitigation of metallic nanoparticles of titanium dioxide and silver in aquaculture products of Atlantic area.
The multidisciplinary team will act on three main fronts:
1. Assessment of the current situation on the presence, transformation, bioaccumulation and effects of engineered nanoparticles in aquaculture products from the Atlantic Area,
2. Evaluation of the human risk of exposure to engineered nanoparticles by oral intake of aquaculture products,
3. Development of sensors for the rapid identification and quantification of engineered nanoparticles in aquaculture facilities.
This international funded project (INTERREG funds) integrates a multidisciplinary team with members from six European research institutions:

- Indigo Rock Marine Research Station (IRMRS)
- Universidad de Santiago de Compostela (USC)
