The Nao Devils are a RoboCup team by the Robotics Research Institute of TU Dortmund University participating in the Standard Platform League since 2009. The team consists of numerous undergraduate students as well as researchers.
RoboCup is an international initiative that fosters research in robotics and artificial intelligence, on multi-robot systems in particular, through competitions of such as RoboCup Robot Soccer. The RoboCup Standard Platform League is a RoboCup robot soccer league, in which all teams compete with identical robots. The robots operate fully autonomously, i.e. there is no external control, neither by humans nor by computers. The current standard platform used is the humanoid NAO by Aldebaran. The ultimate aim of the competition is to develop robots by 2050, which can compete against humans.
