The National Consortium for Data Science

The National Consortium for Data Science (NCDS), a public-private partnership, works to advance data science, educate the next generation of data scientists, and translate data innovations into economic opportunity. Economic growth, national security, healthcare systems, food and energy production, and scientific progress depend on understanding and capitalizing on a crucial asset: data. Yet, as we move to a data-driven economy, our ability to collect data far outpaces our ability to manage and use it to drive growth. Leadership in data science research and education will unleash the power of data to drive economic growth. Launched by researchers at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the NCDS brings together data creators and users in business, academia, government, and the non-profit sector to holistically address our data challenges.
