This date marks the anniversary of when data centres were officially classified as Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) by the UK Government, highlighting their importance in keeping businesses, services, and society connected and providing infrastructure that’s as vital as water and energy. From enabling cloud computing and AI to supporting essential services like healthcare, finance, and communications, data centres are the backbone of our digital world. Yet, they often go unnoticed.
