Native Forest is a non-profit association created in January 2020 and born from the common desire of a group of friends: act for the planet while helping populations in difficulty. The members of the association aim to plant a native forest in Ecuador within 3 years. What is a native forest? It is a forest that has never been exploited or touched by man. In order to create this completely autonomous forest, the association will use a very specific planting method: the Miyawaki method. Invented and implemented by professor and botanist Akira Miyawaki, this method consists in recreating an ecosystem in which plants feed and are self-sufficient. This method has several advantages: forests 30 times denser, better rooting, forests growing faster, independently and no need for chemicals or fertilizers. This method allows the preservation and development of plant and animal biodiversity, and thus the protection of endemic regional endangered species.
