Naurex is a biopharmaceutical company developing novel modulators of the NMDA receptor to treat challenging diseases of the brain and central nervous system. Our lead product candidate, rapastinel (GLYX-13), is in late-stage clinical development as an adjunctive therapy for patients with major depressive disorder who are unable to achieve an adequate response to their current anti-depressants. Rapastinel has shown rapid, substantial, and sustained antidepressant activity in Phase 2 clinical studies and has been well-tolerated, with none of the psychosis-like side effects that limit other drugs targeting NMDA receptors. Our second-generation compound, NRX-1074, is an orally active agent in Phase 2 clinical development as a monotherapy for the treatment of major depressive disorder. In July 2015, Naurex Inc. entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Allergan plc. The transaction was successfully closed in August 2015.
