Founded by Narsingh Bahadur Shrestha in the 1950s, NB Group is one of Nepal’s leading enterprises, headquartered in Kathmandu, comprising over 40 independent operating companies in banking and finance, construction, trading among other sectors. The group partners with companies spanning a dozen countries across six continents. NB Group (Nepal) Pvt. Ltd is the principal investment holding company. NB Group and its other investment holding companies have successfully promoted and established 7 public limited companies under Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) including Nepal Bangladesh Bank Ltd., NB Insurance Ltd. (now IME General Insurance Ltd.), Nepal Credit and Commerce Bank Ltd., Harisiddhi Brick & Tiles Factory Ltd. and National Hydro Power Company, the combined market capitalization of which stand at NPR 35 Billion (Approximately US$ 300 Million). NB Group is currently in the process of establishing various other projects in the hospitality, health and trade sector especially the fertilizer sector.
