National Centre for Aquatic Animal Health (NCAAH), established on 18 January 2000, while completing 25 years of its journey, the Centre dwells as companion of aquafarmers sharing their perils and ecstasies in the dynamic world of aquafarming. While moving forward with the motto "Relentless effort for the protection of health of aquatic animals and their environment” the Centre uses cutting-edge technologies for sustainable aquaculture, with a unique Aquaculture Health Products Division, Disease Diagnostic Services, Preventive Health Care and an Aquaculture Extension Cell linking farmers to the technologies. As an offshoot of the mission undertaken over the years, the Centre offers an education programme at the highest level of specialization in Marine Biotechnology (M.Tech) sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, besides Ph. D. programmes in Marine Biotechnology and Aquatic Animal Health, post-doctoral programmes coupled with a series of skill development programmes at various levels.
