The National Center of Excellence in Technology for Internal Security (NCETIS) is established as a joint collaboration under the Government's Digital India program between Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology - MeitY, Govt. of India & IIT Bombay to strengthen the strategic & internal security of India. It aims to develop indigenous technology solutions for internal security forces in broad areas of ESDM.
The objective of the Centre is to develop state-of-the-art technologies vital to our security agencies (Police and Paramilitary forces) and for providing rescue and relief operations. This centre has been set up to address the nation's internal security needs continuously, deliver technologies/prototypes required for internal security, and promote domestic industry in the country. NCETIS will act as a national nodal facility, to cater to homeland/internal security technology requirements and technologies for disaster management.
