National Council for Persons with Disabilities

The National Council for Persons with Disabilities (NCPD) in Fiji provides a range of services to support and empower people with disabilities. Some of these services include: Advocacy: NCPD advocates for the rights of people with disabilities in Fiji and works to ensure that their voices are heard in policy and decision-making processes. Accessibility: NCPD provides guidance and support to ensure that public spaces, buildings, and transport are accessible for people with disabilities. Information and referral: NCPD provides information and referrals to people with disabilities to help them access services and support in their communities. Training and capacity building: NCPD offers training and capacity-building programs for people with disabilities, their families, and service providers to increase their knowledge and skills. Employment support: NCPD works to increase employment opportunities for people with disabilities and provides support to help them succeed in the workplace. Assistive technology: NCPD helps people with disabilities access assistive technology, such as mobility aids, communication devices, and hearing aids, to support their independence and participation in daily life by connecting them with Mobility Service Providers in Fiji Community development: NCPD works with communities to promote the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities in community life. Overall, the NCPD plays a critical role in promoting the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of people with disabilities in Fiji. NCPD overseas 35 + affiliated disability organizations and continues to work with each one of them to better the lives of Persons with Disabilities in Fiji
